ABOUT

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY since 2007

CREATING DEFENSIBLE SPACE.

Our passion is to serve our community by ensuring that their investment is protected from wild fires. Since 2007, we have mitigated over 300 properties and acquired over $500,000 in funding to help homeowners create a defensible space around their home.

owner operated.

Beetle Kill Tree Guys is an owner operated company established in 2007 at the peak of the Mountain Pine Beetle (MPB) infestation that has impacted nearly 4 million acres of Colorado forest since 1996. For the last decade homeowners, city officials, and mountain communities have sought out Beetle Kill Tree Guys for its unprecedented expertise.

Committed to quality.

We value providing a service that leaves a lasting impression on our customers and those who see our work. Attention to detail, job site safety, and thoroughness are three important values we carry into all of our jobs big and small. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little, and we look forward to working with you for all your tree service needs.

“The owner, Christian, was very quick to respond to our request for a proposal, and he kept in touch via phone and email about the upcoming job. His team worked well together, cutting, cleaning up, and removing everything we asked. They dropped the trees precisely where they would not harm other trees, and even rebuilt our campfire circle to a stronger circle than it was!”

Meet owner, Christian Nelson

Shortly after earning his degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Christian Nelson found himself in the tree business. Growing up near Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Christian has always been an outdoorsman and cared about the environment. This passion ultimately led him to Colorado and now Summit County which is where Christian calls home.

“I am passionate about serving my community, taking care of my crew and the clients that we serve. The common misconception about tree work is that all we do is cut down trees, when really, it’s about preserving as many trees as possible to create a healthy environment for them to thrive, and in the process, making our forests, homes and communities resilient against wildfire.”
